Well, as they say, the best-laid plans can go right out the porthole! Hurricane Simon decided to rearrange our itinerary, and unfortunately, our scheduled stop in MazatlΓ‘n was canceled. So, instead of exploring another Mexican port, we found ourselves enjoying yet another day at sea!
That makes SIX sea days before we finally reach Panama and the famous Canal locks! Wow! That’s a whole lot of ocean! At this rate, we may forget what dry land looks like! π
But hey, we’re on a beautiful ship, being pampered, entertained, and well-fed, so who’s complaining? Certainly not us!
We started our unexpected sea day the best way possible β sleeping in! No alarms, no rushing, and absolutely nowhere we had to be. After a leisurely morning, we wandered around the ship, exploring different venues and deciding where we wanted to spend our day.
And wouldn’t you know it, we discovered a game room buzzing with activity! There were people playing just about every game under the sun, including Mah Jongg! Well, that was all Viv needed to see! She happily joined the Mahj players while Clay headed off to enjoy one of the ship’s entertaining game shows. A little separate fun before reuniting for lunch!
π Lunch brought us back together at O’Malley’s Irish Pub, where we’d heard rave reviews about the burgers. Everyone seems to agree that O’Malley’s serves some of the best burgers onboard, so naturally, we had to investigate! After all, someone has to do the important research!
A few hours of leisurely shopping followed. There always seems to be something new to discover in the ship’s boutiques, and browsing is half the fun! Eventually, we made our way back to our cabin for a little relaxation before the evening festivities.
π Dinner tonight was at Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria, one of Princess Cruises’ signature specialty restaurants. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and authentic Italian-inspired cuisine, Sabatini’s offers a wonderful taste of Italy at sea. Think delicious handmade pastas, traditional Italian specialties, beautifully presented dishes, and attentive service. It’s the kind of place where dinner is meant to be savored, not rushed. La dolce vita β cruise ship style!
πΈ And then it was time to ROCK!
After dinner, we headed to The Arena for a lively tribute to Rock ‘n’ Roll! What a terrific way to spend the evening, enjoying the music that has entertained generations. There’s nothing quite like a little rock ‘n’ roll to get the energy flowing after a relaxing day at sea!
But we weren’t quite ready to call it a night.
Our final stop was back at O’Malley’s, where a talented guitarist and vocalist provided the perfect musical ending to our day. A little live music, a wonderful atmosphere, and the pleasure of simply enjoying the moment.
Finally, it was time to head back to our cozy cabin for some much-needed shut-eye. π΄
Another sea day in the books! We may not have made it to MazatlΓ‘n, but we certainly made the most of our unexpected day onboard.
π Six sea days, countless nautical miles, and one very exciting Panama Canal adventure still ahead!
Stay tuned β the journey continues, and who knows what tomorrow will bring?
Fair winds and following seas! ββ€οΈ
