Hong Kong – Day 3

Day 3, (12/08/25), kicked off with breakfast at the hotel, followed by some exploration of the area. We decided to dedicate the day to shopping and returned to the Ladies Street Market. The Ladies Market on Tung Choi Street is about half a mile long in the heart of Mong Kok. This lively market features more than 100 stalls, with a broad array of goods that extend far beyond its name. We saw everything from cell phone gadgets and soccer jerseys to artistic creations and souvenirs representing Hong Kong. The market is open daily, with the exception of the first day of the Chinese New Year. We also checked out a few Mah Jongg shops, but the idea of bringing those heavy tiles back to the U.S. kept us from making any purchases.

Our next stop on this shopping journey was the Temple Street Night Market, a bustling area brimming with an eclectic mix of offerings.

Before immersing ourselves in the night market’s vibrant scene, we paused to relax at Victoria Harbour, wandering along the beautiful Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) waterfront promenade. This scenic pathway, located close to the Avenue of Stars, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, and the historic Clock Tower, provides stunning views of the nightly “A Symphony of Lights” performance. As we walked along the promenade, we were captivated by the enchanting display of synchronized lights and melodies that danced across the harbor, creating a perfect backdrop for our upcoming shopping adventure!

Next, we took a red taxi to the Temple Street Night Market. The weather was perfect for an evening stroll; a nice 20 degrees Celsius which translates to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Here, we uncovered everything from designer bags and clothes, quirky souvenirs, beautiful jade, vintage antiques, high-tech gadgets, and timepieces. We bought a few souvenirs and called it a night as the next day we were scheduled to board Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas headed to Vietnam.
