Day 1: Arrival in Hong Kong – 12/06/25
After a long flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, we found ourselves a day behind schedule. We touched down in Hong Kong early on December 6, just a few days before our embarkation on the Spectrum of the Seas. The weather welcomed us with open arms, and everything went smoothly from the moment we arrived.
Although our room at the Hilton wasn’t quite ready, the friendly staff suggested we explore the area while we waited. They promised our room would be available around 11 AM, which was a pleasant surprise since check-in typically isn’t until 3 PM. We chose this hotel for its prime location in the lively Mong Kok district, known for its vibrant atmosphere and centrality.
After a refreshing morning stroll, we returned to discover our room was ready! For lunch, we indulged in some delicious Cantonese cuisine at Ming Court, a Michelin-starred restaurant located inside the Cordis Hotel. Our meal was a feast of delightful Dim Sum that left us thoroughly satisfied.
Post-lunch, we ventured into the adjacent mall to browse the shops. We stumbled upon the Sky Bar on the top floor, where we enjoyed live music and a fantastic ambiance—a perfect spot to relax and soak in the views.
After exploring the Langham Place mall, we made our way to the bustling Ladies Market. This vibrant marketplace is renowned for its colorful stalls filled with a wide variety of goods, from trendy fashion accessories to unique souvenirs. While browsing, we stumbled upon an array of Mah Jongg trinkets and stylish designer dupes. We couldn’t resist picking up a few Mah Jongg items.
As the day wore on, we headed back to the hotel, planning to go out for dinner. However, fatigue from our long flight and the effects of jet lag caught up with us, and we decided to call it a night instead.
Stay tuned for more adventures as we explore this incredible city!
