Egypt – Day 9

Beneath the starry night, a few members of our group embarked on a hot air balloon adventure over Luxor. They were rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise, while the rest of us enjoyed the stunning sight of about 30 balloons illuminating the sky.

The hot air ballooners gathered with us for breakfast featuring traditional Egyptian dishes. Afterward, we embarked on our journey to the Temple of Dendera before heading to our resort by the Red Sea.

The Temple of Dendera is dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love and beauty. Built during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods (circa 54 BCE to 10 CE), it features well-preserved architecture, including a hypostyle hall and intricate reliefs. Notable for its zodiac relief and sacred lake, the temple reflects the blend of Egyptian and Greco-Roman styles and was a significant religious site in ancient Egypt.

We then ventured through the desert to our destination, the Hotel Tropital Sahl Hasheesh by the Red Sea. Some of us were pleasantly surprised to be taken to a suite right on the water. This all-inclusive resort provides every comfort one could desire, offering a delightful break from our action-packed tour so far.

As we strolled by the pool and swim-up bar, we were invited to join our group’s playful antics—some splashed in the water while others lounged by the rocky edge, sipping a variety of exotic cocktails and watching the festivities. Afterward, we enjoyed a delightful dinner featuring Egyptian delicacies before calling it a night.

Tomorrow, we’re all excited for a day of relaxation by the pool, enjoying a swim in the Red Sea, and indulging in the excellent dining choices and the various bars available.
