Review of the Celebrity Constellation – 10 Night Italy & Croatia Cruise
Our recent 10-night Italy and Croatia cruise aboard the elegant Celebrity Constellationreminded us why Celebrity Cruises continues to have such a loyal following. While Constellation is not one of Celebrity’s newest mega-ships, it offers something many travelers prefer: a classic cruising experience with exceptional service, outstanding itineraries, and a relaxed atmosphere free from crowds and constant activity. The ship carries approximately 2,100 guests and has been a favorite in Celebrity’s Millennium Class fleet since entering service in 2002.
First Impressions
Embarkation in Porto Corsini (Ravenna) was seamless, and from the moment we stepped aboard, the crew made us feel welcome. The ship’s elegant décor, grand atrium, and comfortable public spaces create a refined atmosphere that feels more like a boutique hotel than a floating resort.
Unlike many newer ships packed with water slides, amusement attractions, and endless noise, Constellation focuses on relaxation, good food, attentive service, and destination-rich itineraries. That slower pace suited this Mediterranean voyage perfectly.
Accommodations
We were fortunate to enjoy one of the ship’s spacious forward Ocean View cabins. The room offered excellent storage, comfortable furnishings, and panoramic sea views. While some areas of the ship show their age, our cabin was well maintained, exceptionally clean, and serviced flawlessly by our cabin steward.
Many guests consistently praise Constellation’s roomy Ocean View cabins and comfortable bedding, and we completely agree.
Dining
Dining was one of the highlights of the cruise.
The Oceanview Café buffet offered an impressive variety of fresh selections daily, while the Main Dining Room consistently delivered excellent service and well-prepared meals. We also enjoyed several specialty dining experiences, including the interactive Le Petit Chef, which was as entertaining as it was delicious.
The Martini Bar remained a favorite gathering place before dinner, and Café al Bacio served excellent coffee and pastries throughout the day. Celebrity’s culinary reputation remains one of its strongest assets, and Constellation continues to deliver.
Entertainment and Activities
The entertainment exceeded our expectations.
Highlights included:

Areas for Improvement
No ship is perfect.
Constellation is now over two decades old, and some areas show signs of age when compared with Celebrity’s newer Edge-class vessels. Guests seeking cutting-edge technology, expansive balconies, water parks, or ultra-modern design may prefer one of Celebrity’s newer ships. Some public areas could benefit from additional refurbishment.
However, these minor shortcomings were far outweighed by the ship’s charm, service, itinerary, and overall value.

Would we sail on Celebrity Constellation again? Absolutely.

Our 10-day Italy and Croatia adventure was an unforgettable blend of history, culture, spectacular coastal scenery, and incredible food. From the medieval streets of Bologna to the glamorous harbor of Portofino and the stunning Adriatic coastline of Croatia, every day brought a new highlight.
Italy dazzled us with its rich history and world-famous landmarks. We wandered through the lively markets of Bologna, admired the famous Two Towers, explored the beauty of Ravenna, and stood in awe before the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. Portofino was every bit as charming as its reputation suggests, with colorful waterfront buildings, crystal-clear waters, and breathtaking views from Castello Brown.
Croatia provided a perfect contrast with its stunning Adriatic coastline, ancient walled cities, and welcoming atmosphere. The combination of Venetian, Roman, and Croatian influences created a fascinating cultural experience that felt both familiar and unique.
One of the greatest strengths of this itinerary was its balance.
