Oct 11 – Day 8: Six Sea Days and Still Loving Every Minute! 🚢🌊🥂

Who knew doing absolutely nothing could be so much fun?

Well, here we are on Day 8 of our fabulous Panama Canal cruise aboard the Star Princess! Thanks to Hurricane Simon and our missed stop in Mazatlán, we’ve now enjoyed six full sea days without setting foot on land! That’s six glorious days of no cooking, no cleaning, no driving, no errands, and absolutely none of those pesky chores waiting for us back home. Talk about a vacation!

And you know what? We could definitely get used to this!

Between the wonderful people we’ve met, the incredible experiences we’ve already enjoyed, and the exciting destinations still ahead, this cruise has been worth every minute. We’ve settled into the delightful rhythm of life at sea, where the biggest decisions of the day are where to eat, which show to see, and whether to squeeze in another cocktail or an afternoon nap. Decisions, decisions!

Would we do it all over again? In a heartbeat!

Tonight, We’re Getting Fancy! ✨🥂

Tonight is Formal Night, and we’re trading our casual cruise attire for something a little more glamorous! Time to dress to impress and join the festivities happening throughout the ship.

And believe us, there’s no shortage of entertainment! From live music and spectacular productions to dancing, lounges, and lively performances, the Star Princess offers so many venues that it’s practically impossible to experience everything in one evening.

Dinner Tonight: The Catch by Rudi 🦞🍷

Our dining adventure tonight takes us to The Catch by Rudi, one of the ship’s specialty restaurants, created by renowned chef Rudi Sodamin.

This elegant seafood restaurant puts a creative, upscale twist on the treasures of the sea. Known for its beautifully presented dishes, fresh seafood, and imaginative culinary combinations, The Catch by Rudi promises an experience that’s as much about artistry as it is about flavor. From succulent lobster and expertly prepared fish to tempting appetizers and decadent desserts, it’s a seafood lover’s paradise.

We’re looking forward to a memorable dinner, a little wine, and another wonderful evening at sea.

Will The Catch by Rudi live up to its reputation? We’ll find out tonight and give you our full report!

Until then, we’re off to enjoy another day of being thoroughly spoiled aboard the Star Princess.

Six sea days, countless memories, and the best is still ahead!

Catch you later! 🦞🚢❤️

UPDATE:

WOW! What an absolutely wonderful dining experience! The Catch by Rudi has officially earned the top spot on our list of favorite restaurants aboard the Star Princess!

From the moment we arrived, the service was nothing short of phenomenal. Our waiters were attentive, charming, and made us feel like royalty. And the food? Simply spectacular!

We began our culinary adventure with a fabulous assortment of treasures from the sea. Succulent rock shrimp, beautifully presented smoked salmon, and tender lobster tail were just a few of the delicious appetizers that graced our table. Every dish was as gorgeous to look at as it was delightful to eat!

For our main course, we both chose “Land and Sea,” an exquisite combination of melt-in-your-mouth filet mignon and perfectly prepared lobster tail. Talk about the best of both worlds! Every bite was heavenly.

And just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, along came dessert! A luscious Crêpes Suzette served with ice cream provided the perfect grand finale to an unforgettable meal. Absolutely divine!

Without question, The Catch by Rudi has been our favorite restaurant onboard so far! In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we immediately wanted to make another reservation. Unfortunately, the restaurant is completely booked for the remainder of our cruise. Apparently, we’re not the only ones who discovered this little gem!

But all is not lost! We have another exciting culinary adventure coming up in just a few days — a special Caymus Wines Dinner! 🍇🍷

For those unfamiliar with Caymus, it’s one of Napa Valley’s most celebrated wineries, particularly famous for its rich, velvety Cabernet Sauvignon. Founded by the Wagner family, Caymus has become synonymous with exceptional California wines.

A Caymus wine dinner is a special gourmet experience where an elegant, multi-course menu is thoughtfully paired with wines selected to complement and enhance the flavors of each dish. It’s not just dinner — it’s a journey through fine food and wine, with each course designed to bring out the best in both!

We’re especially looking forward to discovering which wines will be served and how they’ll complement the chef’s creations. Could this experience possibly top The Catch by Rudi?

Stay tuned! The competition for our favorite dining experience aboard the Star Princess is heating up! 🚢🥂🦞

Until next time, bon appétit and cheers from the high seas!
