Just when we thought this cruise couldn’t get any more adventurous, Mother Nature decided to throw another surprise our way!
Today we heard reports of a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake in the Panama region, along with concerns about a possible tsunami. We’re certainly hoping everything is safe and sound by the time we reach the Panama Canal and make our much-anticipated journey through the locks in just a few days.
First Hurricane Simon, now an earthquake and a possible tsunami! Seriously, how much excitement can one cruise handle? We signed up for a relaxing voyage from the Pacific to the Atlantic, not a front-row seat to Mother Nature’s greatest hits! 😂
Thankfully, we feel perfectly safe and comfortable aboard the beautiful Star Princess. Yes, there are plenty of whitecaps on the ocean and some substantial rain, but so far, nothing has dampened our spirits. The ship continues to be our floating home away from home, with plenty of wonderful distractions.
This morning, Viv headed off for another round of Mah Jongg while Clay opted for a more leisurely start, relaxing in the cabin and catching up on movies. Eventually, the two reunited for lunch. And guess where we ended up? O’Malley’s, of course! 🍔 By now, we should probably have our own reserved table! Their delicious burgers keep calling us back, and we’re certainly not complaining.
After lunch, it was time for a little excitement with the Deal or No Deal game show. Nothing like watching people gamble with imaginary fortunes to take your mind off hurricanes and earthquakes!
Now we’re back in our cozy cabin, enjoying a little downtime before heading out for yet another evening of nonstop entertainment, fabulous music, and whatever other surprises the Star Princess has in store.
One thing is certain: this is turning into a cruise we’ll never forget!
