Ba Na Hills – Vietnam Cruise – Day 7

Perched nearly 5,000 feet above sea level, SunWorld Ba Na Hills boasted an ideal climate, usually 10 degrees cooler than at sea level. Our adventure began at a cable car station, from which we traveled across to the enchanting footbridge known as Cau Vang, or the Golden Bridge. Designed by TA Landscape Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City, it stretches nearly 500 feet long, supported by two enormous concrete hands that seemed to reach for the heavens while cradling the bridge and its visitors in huge palms. The footbridge is a popular sight for photo shoots and a curiosity that stirred interest in Ba Na Hills.

Next, we headed to Fantasy Land and the French Village, an amusement complex loosely based on the adventure novels “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” The complex also offered spectacular views of Danang City, nestled far below.

The French Village is designed to resemble a quaint French town, complete with cobblestone streets, medieval-style buildings, and charming cafes. The architecture is inspired by the French Alps, creating a picturesque atmosphere. The design draws inspiration from the French colonial era in Vietnam, when French architecture had a significant impact on urban design in various Vietnamese cities.
