It was quite a treat to discover the Hacienda Las Catalinas, where we were saw a stunning panoramic view of the entire north coast and the city below. We enjoyed a delicious local lunch that energized us to join a lively Bachata and Merengue dance class working off the meal with some fun moves!
We visited the Museum of Rum, where we learned about the fascinating story behind this iconic Dominican spirit.
After a picturesque drive along the vibrant boulevard, we arrived at the iconic amphitheater, seamlessly connected to the historic San Felipe Fortress. There, the past was brought back to life through captivating stories.
A shopping break allowed us to shop for the semi-precious stone Larimar as well as Dominican crafts.
Larimar Overview
– Type: Semi-precious stone (form of pectolite).
